When can we book an
appointment?
Weekday and even weekend appointments (at a slightly higher fee)
can be provided in your home so that it can be fitted around your
busy schedule. It's best to meet during the day rather than
in the evening as artificial light does not render colour as
well.
Do you come to
us?
Yes, in most cases we prefer to come to you so we can see what
type of house you live in if you are renovating, and also look at
the existing furniture and fixtures and fittings we have to work
with.
Do you travel to
country areas?
We do travel to country areas but additional charges apply for
travel outside the Melbourne metro area. We are located in
Ferntree Gully and will travel up to one hour at no extra
charge.
Do you have a
showroom I can come and view?
We don't have a showroom as such but prefer to use a number of
supplier's showrooms around Melbourne. If you are building a
new home, we can meet you at a tile or paint showroom, for example
and have our appointment there.
I only want a
little bit of help, do you do small jobs?
Yes, we do cater for single room makeovers. In fact, we
have a lot of clients who do up one room at a time and call us in
only when they get to each stage. We pride ourselves on our
commitment to you and will contact you regularly to see how things
are progressing.
How much are your
fees?
It depends on how much help you need. Usually we start off
with an initial consultation of 2 hours, followed up with a
detailed report. You can hire us by the hour or for more
comprehensive projects, we can work out a quotation with payment
options available. Cash or cheque are payable at the time
of consultation.
I am building a new home
and only in the early planning stages. When should I contact
you for a consultation?
It is never too early to start planning your new home. We
can have an initial meeting to discuss the project in general and
talk about colours, themes, finishes, etc. We can even liaise
with your builder on your behalf.
Do you have a
builder you can recommend to us?
Yes, Green Room Interiors works with a number of specialist
builders who build high quality dwellings at a reasonable price and
with exceptional workmanship. We are happy to recommend any
of them to you,
Are you able to get
me discounts off the RRP on homewares and furniture?
Yes, definitely. We have arrangements with a number of
retailers in Melbourne and can pass on discounts to you. We
also have accounts with various suppliers who only deal with
decorators, so you can purchase something unique that won't be
found in the usual retail outlets.
Why should I hire
an interior designer when I can do it all myself?
An interior designer provides specialist advice in interior
